Self Reformation: A new and improved you

Reformation: to make a change for the better, correcting errors or wrong doings, improving conditions, or abandoning obsolete or outdated ways.

We all are always working and striving to be better than we are now. We are constantly improving ourselves. If we are not, then we should be. Self improvement, life enhancement or personal enrichment; whatever you may call it, should be a continually life process.

Self-reformation should first begin with evaluating where we are now in your life. You should take a look at where you have come from and recognize where you are at now. Do not dwell on the past, but use it as a tool to improve your current life situations.  Dwelling on past faults or mistakes will only hold you back from moving forward to a better life state of affairs. Do not allow others who focus on your past, make you hold yourself back. You must take control of your own life and the direction it will go.

We should have no problem with make changes in our lives, change is sometimes necessary in our lives. Sometimes, some things that we may have done in the past may not work in our lives now. Just as products, systems and processes are improved, then so should things in our life be enhanced and improved.

Reforming, improving or correcting ourselves; this is needed in order to make to that next level in our lives. If you have not made any changes in your life, this means you have not grown up or matured. You have not learned or gained anything from your life. If you were born yesterday, then that is acceptable but if not, then you have a serious problem. You are stuck in a rut, you’re going nowhere in life. Also, you cannot blame anyone else for your shortcomings; you’re the reason you are where you are.

Now, since you know that you are responsible for the way your life is; then you need to start reforming your own life. You need to start improving your life’s process for the better. Change or remove any systems or processes that are not working for you. If you have done it wrong up until now, then now it is time to do it right. Now that you know better, you need to do better. To have the formula for success and not using it, this is like knowing the answer to a test and still failing. Perfection comes from practice and success comes from application. Applying what you have learned in practice is how you will obtain success in your life.

So, continually correction and improvement are the essence or self-reformation and knowing that you control your own life and its destiny. It is you that need to make the changes necessary for you to have a renewed and enhanced lifestyle.

There is a process before progress

Process: procedure: a particular course of action intended to achieve a result;

Progress: advancement: gradual improvement or growth or development

Everything in life has to go through a process; all things have to follow some course of action.  Things such as, what goes up must come down; where there is darkness, light will eventually be present and what gets hot will eventually cool down. These are things in life that go through simple processes.

Just as things have to go through a process, so do us as people. There is a process for everyone and everything in life. Before a baby is born, it has to first be conceived then it has to go through a growth process in its mother womb. In due course a baby is born, that eventually become a teen, which goes on to be a full grown adult. So these are illustrations of the process before progress.

So just as you have these natural life processes that we go through. To achieve any level of success in your life, you will need to go through a process in these situations as well. So what is the process before the progress to success?

There will need to be preparation, planning and action before you begin making any advancement toward success. There has to be some type of procedure before any improvements or development of success will take any form or shape in your life. So you cannot expect to have any type of achievement or success in your life if there has not been any action to attain those types of results. Without a plan, a man will fail for sure. How can a builder build a house if he does not have a blueprint to go by?  How can a car be built if there is not schematic or diagram to follow?  So how can you even consider being a success if you have not mapped a road to this success? You cannot!

So begin developing yourself a procedure, a particular course of action for your improvement and advancement toward success. There has to be a process before you can even begin to see and progress in your life. Success does not come to those who wait around for it to come their way; this is a misconception on your part if you are waiting on any type of success to come to you. You must get up and move toward success, taking the necessary actions in your life that are required for attaining the success you want and desire. Progress is an action word, so you must take action to be successful. To achieve the result of success in your life you will need to follow the proper procedures of success.

So now that you know and understand that there has to be a process before progress; begin to take the necessary action to achieve the resulting success in your life.

Remember, Your Mental Limitations Are of Your Own Making.

For years, athletes attempted to run a mile in four minutes but it seemed to be a barrier that no one could overcome. Then on May 6, 1954, a British runner named Roger Gilbert Bannister ran a mile in 3:59.4 minutes to establish a world record. Soon afterward, other runners broke Bannister’s record. Too often, we accept conventional wisdom as fact. Make sure you set your goals high enough. Don’t settle for less because of limitations you place upon yourself. Most of us never really reach the level of achievement of which we are capable because we don’t challenge ourselves to do so. Perhaps Robert Browning said it best: “A man’s reach should exceed his grasp,/Or what’s a heaven for?”

You May Have Fallen, But Get Up

We all have fallen or will fall at some point in time in our life. There are many circumstances and situations that can and will cause a person to fall, lose their status, dignity or character in their life. Though, if you fall you do not have to stay down, get up, do not let your fall, failures or lack of success keep you down. Use those negative circumstances to your advantage; turn your failures into successes.

There have been many successful people that have fallen or come short of success just before they made that big break or achieve what they had set out to accomplish. Success without failure is really not worth the achievement. You really can not appreciate the attainment of your successes if you have not first had a taste of failures and disappointments. If you do not go through the wilderness to get to the promise land, how can you really enjoy all the promise land has to offer you? If you never plummet while going up the ladder of success, make a wrong turn while traveling the road to victory, how can you really be grateful for what you achieve in the end.

If great inventors like Thomas Edison, Benjamin Franklin and Garrett A. Morgan had given up after their first failure, where would we be today? These men continue to do research, experiment, discovered and achieve what they had set out to do, contrary to their many fail attempts. All of the research, discoveries and inventions of these three men are still very important to our world today. Like these great men if you fall, or do not at first succeed, get up and try again. Think positive, stay focus and continue to achieve your dreams or goals you have planned for yourself. Without a plan to succeed, you have planned to fail.

Failure is only temporary, if after you have fallen, you get up. If you stay down, lie down and choose not to continue, then and only then have you given up. You having fallen is not a sign of weakness, but not getting up makes you weak. Like little babies when they are first learning to walk, they fall down, but then they get up and fall down again. After many times of falling, they eventually learning how to walk and discover how easy it is to walk. This is not to say they will never fall again. They have learned when they fall not to stay down, but get up. As we have gotten older we have come to understand that to fall does not mean to quit.

When we fall, as long as we get up, then everything will be OK. Getting up shows you can and will continue on not matter what. Getting up means you know you can achieve the goals you have set for yourself. Getting up shows you are a winner and not a quitter. You may have failed; you may have not reached your goal yet. You may have fallen, but get up!

You Are What You’re Thinking You Are

What you feel and think about yourself has a powerful impact on your life. Positive thoughts bring about positive results and healthy thoughts create a healthy and abundant lifestyle. If you think negative thoughts you will get negative results. Also, most people do not like being around anyone that is always complaining and talking negative.

When it comes to people and their lifestyle, I have learned that opposites do not always attractive opposites. It is what you think about and desire the most in life that most often comes to fruition. Even what people may feel, think or even say about you really has no affect on your life, it is what you feel, think and say about yourself that impacts your own life. There have been many people that were told that they would never be anything or amount to nothing in life. Some of those same people today are successful and wealthy people living healthy, successful and abundant lifestyles.

What you think and believe about yourself is what makes you, who and what you are. Your attitude is what determines your altitude and level of success you achieve in life. If you feel like you cannot do something you will not be able to do it. Or just like the story of "The Little Engine", "if you think you can, then you will". What so ever a person thinks they are, then that’s what they will be. If you keeping on say I am sick and tired of this job, I am sick and tired of my spouse or I am sick and tired of this or that, then that’s what you will become, sick and tired and unable to do anything.

To think and live positively really takes less energy and effort than you may consider. Think about this, when you go to sleep complaining and grouchy, you wake up tired, still complaining and not wanting to move or do anything, how hard is it for you to get up and to get moving? On the other hand, when go to sleep on a good note with positive thoughts, you wake up energetic, ready to go and your day goes a whole lot better. So a positive lifestyle actually requires less effort for you than you going around thinking negative and complaining all the time. It’s easier to know that you can and will be able to handle any and every situation, whether bad or good that comes your way. You worrying and thinking the worst will not yield positive result in any situation.

So, now with you having a better understand, that what you think you are you will become. Trade in you negative thinking for positive thinking to create a lifestyle of good health, success and abundance, which requires less effort for to do. In all you do, remember this, "You are what you’re thinking you are."
